PLACES VISITED:
NOT AVAILABLE ON SUNDAYS
departs. Paquetá Island is located in Guanabara Bay. To get there we will take one of the
ferries (built in the 60's) through the bay. In one hour we will be getting to this wonderful
small piece of Brazilian history. The island is free from all motorized transportation (except for city
cleaning and maintenance) and all movement is done on foot, bike or horse-drawn carriage
and is approximately 682sq. The name of the island is a Tupi word meaning "many shells", a reference
to the plentiful shells on the island's beaches. If you believe in love, don't miss this one. Just along the
main street there's an Imbondeiro Macho tree (also called Obaoba), 1,628 years old, and the story goes
that if you
kiss its trunk and make a wish it will come true. Perhaps if you and your loved one share the
same wish, it will come true.

of the authentic Brazilian folklore!
Thirty beautiful "mulata-dancers" together with a competent male cast, take a cultural journey
within the popular Brazilian music. It all started when the Portuguese settlers couldn't impose
their habits, religion or slavery on the natives that used to live free on the shores and rain-
forests of their land. The only way found by the settlers was to bring Africans for labor,
which besides the workforce brought also their culture.
The grand finale, with a parade of luxurious costumes with the colors of the Brazilian flag:
green (the forests), yellow (the gold and the wealth of the country), blue (the sky and the
constellation of the Southern Cross) and the white (peace) emphasizing some important
personalities of the Brazilian History. (Contact me for price list)
